End Summer Organized!!!
It’s time to start planning because soon you’ll have to put away Summery things. Odds are your family’s not done with outdoor toys and summer clothes just yet, but that’s why now is the perfect time to get ready! While you start getting your home organized for the upcoming school year, remember to donate things that you and your family no longer need or want. Try setting up a Large Utility Tote in your laundry room or the garage. Tell your family that it is your “Donation Bag.” When it gets full, transfer the contents to a plastic bag and drop it off at your local donation center. As your kids get new school clothes, have them clean out anything from last year that doesn’t fit or that they just don’t like to wear. Don’t forget to check your closet too!

NICU Bag-Raiser for South Shore Hospital
the nicu experience can be summed up in one word... rollercoaster. typically your expectations of what the first moments, minutes, hours, days (and for us months and years) of parenthood are "supposed to be" are sort of, well, dashed.
being my first born, my girls busted into this world 15 weeks early. crazy i know. i was not prepared at all... doctors and nurses and lactation consultants and social workers and insurance companies and respiratory therapists and ahhhh! i basically lived in a daze, reluctantly leaving at the end of the day just to wake up during the night to pump, get up in the morning and head right back.
12 hour days were never so tiring or rewarding... and i must admit, i don't remember much of it.
i *do* remember being extremely disorganized. i also remember making my husband drive me to the store so i could at least have a bag to get baby stuff back and forth. i didn't even have a diaper bag yet. i hadn't had a baby shower yet. i just wanted to feel like a mommy! i bought a quilted bag in a cute pattern... it was cute, somewhat functional... and it turns out, kind of gross.
i spent 12 hours plus a day in the hospital. it was fabric, but couldn't really be *washed.* it was basically a germ magnet. blargh.
i thought i would do something not just for the NICU at the hospital that did a glove save on my girls, but for the parents of the tiny miracles that are there fighting each and every day. they could use it!
i'm putting up a link for a "bag-raiser!" i think the 'organizing utility tote' (item 3105) is the best tote for the job for parents. You can wipe it down with alcohol wipes, you could even rinse it out with soap and water. it's just perfect! they'll be able to use it throughout their nicu journey and beyond!
i'd love to be able to deliver a whole bunch of these this fall. personalizing (and extra $7) is totally welcome. some great ideas that were thrown out on facebook were:

My 31 Story - WHY Amy WHY?
some of my friends still insist i'm silly for 'selling bags.' they say, 'WHY amy? WHY did you decide to do this? how are you successful?' my answer: believe in it! you're as strong as you think you are in so many ways. trust me!

opportunity abounds (aka pay off some debt mommy!)
ok, i'll admit it... i'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes. i won't make any excuses (ahem, full time job, three year old twins), but i wanted everyone to see this! i sometimes think that friends and family think my thirty-one venture is fleeting and that i'm not entirely serious about the opportunity. while i may not be the most dazzling party leader to ever take the world by storm, i fully do believe that this is a *great* way to own your own business.
it's pretty much a no-brainer. they give you all the tools and resources and you can be as involved (or not), as full (or part) time as you want. it's really the best of both worlds as i have been able to keep up with the girls, keep my job (those darn mortgage payments) *and* pay down some of those student loans and revolving debt we have out there. everyone has it, i know... and finally taking a step to get rid of it is pretty darn liberating!
take a look at the usa today coverage on thirty-one. i was unable to make the thirty-one national conference in atlanta this past weekend as i had a family wedding to attend, but my teammates reported back some pretty exciting things coming up for the Fall. i'm not sure i could be more excited about the new prints coming down the pike. WOO HOO for sure.
the upcoming months is by far the best selling season with back to school, fundraisers, holidays and the like...
i know it's not for everyone, but i never thought owning a home party business was my thing either... until it was!
as an extra incentive, if you do decide to join and try it out, i will refund you the $99 consultant fee once you qualify in the first couple of months. now *that's* pretty sweet if you ask me. :)
here is the consultant "kit" you get (an amazing deal in itself!!!)
